Mamma Mia!

Hello everyone im back. I know i’ve been missed even if you haven’t mentioned it but its ok. Well the past week has been quite a roller coaster of moods and emotions. Things have changed in my life and also on kottu.

I see St Fallen has been quite a hit this week. Hes been blogging alot lately about his weeding and trishaw buddies. I just hope he doesn’t get into it as i know from experience he is easily influenced. Anyway condrats on making it to the top 5 buddy.

I went to watch Mamma Mia yesterday. A total of 22 of us were present armed with our singing voices and teenage hormones. The group consisted of 8 girls, some of their parents, me and a french guy. So i felt a bit gay and also a bit lucky at the same time. The movie well in my opinion was alright. It was directed, produced blah blah well but it lacked that punch that good movies with such good actors lacked.

Firstly there was Meryl Streep who is always classically amazing. At her age running around and singing must be difficult. I feel sorry for her children who had to see what there mother was doing.

The main girl, Amanda Seyfired has an amazing voice. Although i was focusing on her chestal areas when she was running around in that bikini but still her voice could be heard.

Pierce Brosnon was not fit for this movie. I think he just got into the movie over some bet. At the moment when i expect him to leap over something and pull out a pistol he bursts into song. Plus he cant sing that well.

The other two fathers were good. The Indiana Jones guy did have that many lines but he had alot more screen time when he found out when he was the father compared to the other two. Colin Firth stole Bonds line by saying “Bright, Harry Bright”. Although ill never tattoo my butt.

We sang to all the songs and swayed in our seats. Nobody had the balls to tell us off since we were in a large number. Though if a fight did start i’d get more help from the girls than from the french guy ๐Ÿ˜› One guy did say something to the french guy. It was something along the lines of :

“If you stop singing ill buy you the DVD”

Must be frenchie’s charming voice.

The one thing i hate about muscials is when they’re about to say something that means something, something that is so life altering there is a huge suspense just for those words. The suspense begins and then they start singing… ruinging the moment.

In the end it was an alright movie and the people i went with were awesome.

Till i empty my drafts. For now

  1. Movie was alright… and yes, it was quite a difference to see Meryl Streep… I usually see her in serious movies that have links to the war and stuff….

I wouldn’t say the movie was great. but was certainly kinda fun…. I know LOTS of people who just LOVED it and watched it more than once on the big screen…:)

  2. More than the movie being good, I think its just ABBA’s musical genius… well @ least Bjorn and Benny’s genius. ๐Ÿ™‚ I haven’t watched it yet though mind you. ๐Ÿ˜€
